  • Encourage Them to Mingle

    Children often tend to isolate themselves from others when they are feeling depressed. If you find your child feeling sad and isolating themselves, give them sufficient to be with themselves, and encourage them to be with other children. But, make sure that these children are not negative and bullying kinds.

  • Appreciate When They do Something

    Children need encouragement, appreciation and recognition when they have done something good. However, this does not mean they should be ignored or scowled when they have done something wrong. Give them the recognition and appreciation they deserve, and if you feel what they have done is wrong explain them so without showing negative emotions.

  • Do Not Judge Them

    Do not judge or label your children when in depression. It is not possible for anyone, let alone a child, to do everything correct. Instead, talk to them and let them know they matter to you.

  • Let Them Know You Love Them

    When children are suffering from depression they tend to feel that they are undesirable or that they are unworthy. Let your child know that you love them unconditionally, and that you appreciate them and accept them no matter what. But, watch yourself from over-pampering your child which will only make them dependent.

  • Encourage Them into Activity

    Sports and other form of activities help your child in coming out of their shell. It gives them a chance to interact with other children without being forced. It also helps them face failure, to be sportive, and to not to give up, but, try again when they desire something.
